WW2 - Military & Home Front
BRITISH ARMY RATION BAG. |
Item No. 00227
|
A reproduction WW2 pattern British Army soldier's RATION BAG. This item is made from old cotton, and is copied exactly from a genuine example. This is the most convincing repro we have ever seen, and has been carefully made on a 1930's Singer sewing machine, by an 81-year-old lady who used to knit for the troops back in WW2 - Yes, my own mum! Ration bags like these would have been issued to a wide range of forces, including - the Army, Airborne Forces, Parachute Regiment, Commandos, Special Air Service, Long Range Desert Group, Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Chindits, RAF Regiment, and probably even the Home Guard – when some units were equipped with standard issue army equipment towards the end of the war. This is a very convincing repro, and is sold as such. It is stamped with the ficticious manufacturer "JRWCo" (JRWCollectables). A choice of dates are available - "1940", "1942" or "1944". This bag is ideal for Living History purposes, and is equally convincing enough for the WW2 collection or museum. It is being offered at half the price that you would find similar examples being sold for elsewhere. Price: |
