A US Army Paratroopers Helmet. This is an original Para helmet, and has the correct lining, with the "A" frame webbing on each side, the nape guard at the back, and the snap fastener stud on the inside, which allows the outer shell to be attached to it. On the chin cup you can still see the faint marking "US".  

The Mitchell pattern cover that comes with it is dated 1967 on the Autumn camouflage side, on the reverse on the inside. The outside of the cover has a piece of rubber in place, which dates from the period. The sweatband has the name of the former owner "Jim Harrison".

This is a nice, original item. It's been issued and used, but remains in VGC for it's age.
